Impact of using Meta Tags in Blogger

What Are Meta Tags?

Meta tags are snippets of text that describe a page’s content; the meta tags don’t appear on the page itself, but only in the page’s code. We all know tags from blog culture, and meta tags are more or less the same thing, little content descriptors that help tell search engines what a web page is about.

The only difference between tags you can see (on a blogpost, say) and tags you can’t see is location: meta tags only exist in HTML, usually at the “head” of the page, and so are only visible to search engines (and people who know where to look). The “meta” stands for “metadata,” which is the kind of data these tags provide – data about the data on your page.

There are three important parts of Meta tags that you can use:

1. Title – The title tag is the title text that is shown in search engine listings. I know that this is not necessarily a meta tag, but it similarly functions like one.

2. Description – The meta description tag is where you would want to put your site’s summary. This is where you put what your site is all about and what you are offering people. It should not be too long because the search engines only read up to a certain number of words.

3. Keywords – The meta keywords tag is where you put all of the keywords you use on your site. This is basically where you want the words which will take you to the top of the SERPs page to be. Your keywords are important – even if you take away all of the other words, the user should be able to know what your site is all about when they read your keywords.

These three things make up your meta tags.

The importance of meta tags is that the search engines read them in order to compare if these keywords and the description are related to the visible content. Are your keywords present in your webpage? Is your meta description related to your content and your site’s niche? There is the certain weight in your meta tags that the search engines see, that being the reason, wouldn’t you want to do everything in order to bring your page a little bit higher in the SERPs? That’s exactly the reason why meta tags are important.

How Google Detects Invalid Clicks

We always hear that Google Adsense has a sophisticated system to detect the invalid clicks, and result in termination of the cheaters' account. But, how can Google do that? In this post, I summarize those ways that Google depends on to detect whether the clicks on your site are invalid or not. Google will not first ban your account immediately. Rather, they will first flag your account and Google will keep a closer eye to your account. In some occasion, they may send you a warning letter to notify your situation but sometimes not.

1. IP Address
It is the easiest and must be recognized by everyone. If those clicks on your ads are originated from the same IP Address as the one used for accessing your AdSense account, your account is flagged.

2. Click Through Rate (CTR)
Normally, Click through Rate should not exceed 10%. Otherwise, Google will flag your account. For your information, normal CTR should ranges from 0.5% - 10%.

3. Physical Location
Google has good tracing software and technology.They can trace traffics origin down to the small town. So, using different computers with different IP address does not secure anything. So, don't try to click your ads in various Internet cafes. That will kill you.

4. Cookies
Most home users do not use static IP Address for Internet connection. In most cases just disconnect and reconnect will give you a new IP Address. But don't forget, Google has set cookies on your computer. They can trace these cookies and see whether they originate from the same computer.

5. Click Pattern 1
It is also suspicious when people click on their clicks and then run away immediately (hit-and-run). But normally, people will surf for a while inside your pages and then click on the ads they want.

6. Click Pattern 2
Why this computer / IP address / person is so trigger-click-happy on this particular website but never click on the ads on other sites?

7. Click Pattern 3
And why is it that people accessing these sites direct (type-in URL or from bookmark) tend to be very active ad-clickers compared with those referred from search engine or other sites?

8.Other Google Services
Apart from Google Adsense, Google also provide a series of services to us. Don't just think that it is safe if you do not log in your adsense account and click on your ads. What other Google services do they provide to us?Here are some: Gmail , Google Earth, Google Calendar, Google Search, Google Toolbar, Google Talk, Google Sitemap, Google Desktop, Blogger, or even Youtube .

9. Search Engine Ranking
Your website is not indexed on any search engine, not linked by any prominent website, but get consistently high traffic? How come people can access your website and click your ads? That will make Google to smell a rat.

10. Webpage design
How about the "Please click a link below" or "donate us by clicking the ads"? These kinds of encouragement is not in line with Google's TOS. Google can use their winning search engine, or even human eyes to check your sites from time to time.

Add Smooth Scrolling Back To Top Button In Blogger

Back to top buttons are very helpful on blogs and websites. Moreover, you will be overwhelmed if the button does a nice scrolling animation when the page goes up. Such buttons are called smooth scrolling buttons. So here's a tutorial of how to implement a smooth scrolling back to top button on your blog.

Steps to implement:

1. Go to your blogger dashboard >> Template >> Edit HTML.

2. Press CTRL + F and find the following piece of code:

How To Create A Contact Page For Blogger

It has been long that i have blogged about Adsense alternatives .This post will compare the two major name when it comes to adsense alternatives: Infolinks and Chitika. How To Add Chitika Ads On Blogger

Adding Chitika Ads On Your Blog Is Quite Easy.

2. Once logged in you will need to click on "Layout"

How to Submit A Sitemap On Blogger

Introduction to Sitemap

A sitemap is simply a directory of all the pages existing on your site, like a table of contents showing the structure of your blog. Sitemaps help search engines crawl your site and index it properly. Search engines will crawl your site if you have a sitemap or not, but this makes the process easier and quicker for them.

Bloggers default XML sitemap only shows recent blog posts – which is about 26 posts. We want search engine spiders to know your blogs structure so that they can easily understand and index it.

How to create a sitemap for blogger

Creating a site map on Blogger is easy, simply add your blog name to the link below.

Blogger – Default URL
http://blogname.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

Blogger – Custom URL
http://blogname.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

A single sitemap file should not be exceed 50MB which is why we limit it to max results 500. You may need to edit this depending on how big your feed is. Now we’ve to tell search engines that this is your site map. To do this, we add it to your robots.txt file and submit it to Google Webmaster Tools.

Go to Blogger > Dashboard > Settings > Search Preferences and click edit the custom robots.txt file. Click enable and paste the following adding your blogname.

Disallow: /search

The above section means that search engines can index your entire site (Allow: /) apart from your blogs search results (Disallow: /search) which is good because that would be considered duplicate pages.

Now login to Google Webmaster Tools and select your blog. On the left click Crawl > Sitemaps > Add/Test Sitemap. You’ll see your blog name and a text input box, paste atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500, test for errors and submit.

Google will now start to crawl and index your site. You can check what pages have been indexed on Googles Webmaster Tools or by going to Google Search and typing “site:www.BLOG-URL.blogspot.com”, “site:BLOG-URL.blogspot.com”, “site:www.BLOG-URL.com” or “site:BLOG-URL.com”. To submit your sitemap to Bing, login to Bings Webmaster Tools, add your URL, verify ownership and then submit your site map. It may take a few days for your site to be indexed.

Have more than 500 posts?

If you have more than 500 posts on your blog, you simply submit another sitemap starting at post number 501 for the next 500 posts like so /atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=501&max-results=500and continue this depending on the amount of posts you have. So if I had over 1000 posts, my robots.text file would look like this and I would submit the three separate sitemaps to Googles Webmaster Tool.

I 'm using one of those templates in one of my blogs, but obviously do not like having links in the footer , in fact I do not like having many outbound links , but I came out with this template challenge ( hehe ) search template and I realized that the bottom line was the part that has java script :

Einstein said it best intelligence but I do not need tools to do things, or something said , I do not remember , but hey the point is that the first idea that occurred to me was to spend that code for Hex Decoder unfortunately does not work , for which the template is broken , look at other blogs and mentioned along about id = ' myCONTENT '> to replacing it , that deleting it etc etc etc , none of that worked

Well if you have a template of template-is and want to change / remove the footer links , let's get down !

Log into your blog template >>> >>>> edit html and removes all this code:

Make sure to remove from <script type='text/javascript'> and to </script>

If you Couldn't find the code in the image, it means the code is hided in javascript find this code and remove it your done here :: <script src='https://btemplateism.googlecode.com/files/blogger_pagenavi_min.js' type='text/javascript'/>

and delete the Script below this script that now i entered here...!

Step:1 Go to blog Dashboard>Template>Edit HTML.

Step:2 Search the code

Step:3 There are many such codes.Find one which looks like this

Step:4 Select the code just bellow

Step:5 Now delete the selected code and replace the following script

Step:6 Search the word mycontent and change it with any word you may
like such as Remove Credit Link
Step:7 Now change or remove credit link as you desired.
